TALLAHASSEE, FL (June 14, 2024) – Final Round results of the 52nd Southern Junior Championship of the Southern Golf Association hosted by Seminole Legacy Golf Club, Tallahassee, Florida on Friday, June 14, 2024 (7190 yards, Par 36-36—72. Rating: 74.9/137).

Tyler Sanford of Montgomery, Texas held onto his Round Two lead to claim the 52nd Southern Junior Championship title. He fired four birdies today and went five-under 211 overall.

“It was a grind today,” said Sanford. “This golf course is very hard and mentally draining. But, it feels amazing to be the champion. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my chest, I really don’t even know how to explain it.”

Jaxon Bandelier of Austin, Texas and Cole Stockard of Dalton, Georgia carded three-under 213 to finish tied for second place.

Final Round Notes: 

• Field average score: 75.72 (0.68 less than round two)
• Five eagles posted in Round Three
• 163 birdies posted in Round Three 
• Three players broke par 
• Easiest Hole: 11
• Hardest Hole: 10

The winner of the Southern Junior Championship receives a silver medal; his name engraved on the Perry Adair Trophy; a Calamity Jane putter; exemption into the 2025 Southern Amateur Championship; exemption into all future Southern Junior Championships in which he is eligible to compete; and is fully Exempt with AJGA thru 2025.

• The Top 5 finishers receive Fully Exempt status with AJGA for 2 seasons (2024-2025). 
• 1st-25th places receive AJGA stars (see AJGA.org website).
• Players who made the 36-hole cut receive Rolex AJGA Ranking points.
