CARROLLTON, TX (July 16, 2020) - Second round results of the 114th Southern Amateur Championship of the Southern Golf Association hosted by Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, TX on Thursday, July 16, 2020 (7445 yards, par-72, 77.4/152).

Pepperdine’s William Mouw of Chino, California maintains his placement atop the scoreboard posting a five-under 67 for round two. With only one bogey, Mouw carded six birdies to showcase another day of steady play.
“Being able to come out here and play with some of the best amateurs in the World is a privilege,” said Mouw. “One of my goals coming into this tournament was to play par-five’s well, and I’m looking forward to seeing what I can do in the next few days.”
Closely following the leader is David Perkins of East Peoria, IL, shooting a second round 67 to sit second place. Perkins climbed the leaderboard, after finishing tied for third in round one. Only one-shot behind Perkins is Texas’ Pierceson Coody at 138 (-6).
Round one’s co-leader, Aman Gupta of Concord, NC, finished four-over 76 for the day.
