Little Rock, AR (July 17, 2019) - First round results of the 113th Southern Amateur Championship of the Southern Golf Association hosted by Chenal Country Club (Founders) in Little Rock, AR on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 (7131 yards, Par 35-36―71, Rating: 74.6/139).
Walker Lee of Houston, TX posted a six-under 65 to take a one-shot lead after the first round at Chenal Country Club. The Texas A&M junior carded five birdies, an eagle against a lone bogey in his round. He leads by one stroke over former Western Kentucky University standout Billy Tom Sargent of Georgetown, KY.

Round two begins on Thursday at 7:30am off #1 and #10 tees at Chenal Country Club. The public is invited.
Format is 72 holes of stroke play. The field will be cut to the low 66 players and ties after 36 holes. The lowest score for 72 holes will be the Champion. In the event of a tie for the Championship, a hole-by-hole play-off will be held immediately following play.
Entries were open to any male amateur golfer who has a current USGA Handicap Index® not exceeding 3.4 under the USGA Handicap System.
