BIRMINGHAM, AL (April 29, 2019) – Jennifer Kupcho of Westminster, Colorado has been named SGA Amateur of the Month Presented by Global Golf Post for March 2019 by the Southern Golf Association (SGA).
Highlighting her March accomplishments, the Wake Forest senior won the Tar Heel Classic played at Casa de Campo Resort in the Dominican Republic, shared co-medalist honors with teammate Emilia Migliaccio at the Bryan National Collegiate in Greensboro, NC and finished in a tie for second at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head Island.
Kupcho’s victory at the inaugural Augusta National Women’s Amateur vaulted her into the international spotlight.
She is currently the number one ranked female Amateur in the World according to the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
Winners of the SGA’s monthly award are determined by an international panel of golf officials, coaches and journalists. Now in its 14th season, notable recipients have been Bill Haas, Michelle Wie, Hunter Mahan, Ryan Moore, J. B. Holmes, Webb Simpson, Rhys Davies, Kyle Stanley, Kevin Fortin-Simard, Rickie Fowler, Danny Lee, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Alice Hewson, and more recently Cole Hammer and Jovan Rebula.
The SGA supports amateur golf at the highest level, including staging of the storied Southern Amateur, as well as the Southern Junior Championship.
